As a researcher at Slover Linett, Emily helps clients connect with their communities by designing, implementing, and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative research studies in a wide variety of contexts. Her work with Slover Linett clients such as the Library of Congress, The High Line, Signature Theatre, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the Morton Arboretum, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the international community movement Of/By/For All, is shaped by her training in community psychology and animated by her commitment to supporting arts and culture organizations as powerful tools for education, community development, and social change. Emily aims to aid organizations in their goals to be authentically relevant and useful to diverse audiences.

Before coming to Slover Linett, Emily spent ten years working with often-underserved groups, specifically communities of refugees, asylum seekers, and survivors of torture. Emily has published and presented on this research at conferences locally and internationally. Additionally, she has taught research methods and community psychology to undergraduate students and been invited to give guest lectures on her research, course content, and advocacy and volunteer activities.

Emily earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Vassar College, her M.A. in psychology from New York University, and her Ph.D. in community psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Emily is an eager home cook, enthusiastic explorer of city parks, and aspiring knitter.
